Gifts to Report Local support Report for America and Report for the World. Your gift helps us place corps members in local newsrooms to cover key issues including health, justice, education and the environment. We provide our journalists with mentorship and training throughout their time in the program. Our our local newsroom partners also receive training and support on creating sustainable business models and fundraising. Your gift is helping to rewrite the story of local news!

Is my gift tax-deductible?
Report Local is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt-organization, operating as a DBA under our former name, The GroundTruth Project. Your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record. We'll send it to you upon successful completion of your donation. Will I get a receipt?
Yes, we’ll send a receipt to the email address you provide when donating. The receipt will include your donation details, such as the date, amount, and any beneficiary information.
Can I send a check instead?

If possible, please include a short note or business card with your contact information so we can properly thank you for your generous support!
Can I make a gift via my Donor Advised Fund (DAF), stock, or another method?
Yes, we'd be happy to help facilitate your gift via donor advised fund or other method. During our transition to being known as Report Local, we may be under The GroundTruth Project (our former name) in your DAF portal, but our EIN has not changed.
